Network Management & Transparency
Last updated 9/9/2025
This page explains how Lehigh WiFi operates and manages its network in accordance with the FCC’s transparency principles. It applies to residential and business internet access services.
1) Overview
We provide fixed wireless internet service. Performance depends on line‑of‑sight (LOS), terrain, foliage, distance from access points, spectrum conditions, and sector utilization. We strive to provide consistent performance and disclose our practices below.
2) Congestion Management
We use reasonable, application‑agnostic congestion management to preserve quality of experience for all customers. During busy periods, we may temporarily adjust scheduling/queuing to reduce impact of any single connection. Business plans with a priority add‑on may receive higher scheduling priority during an incident. We do not block lawful content or throttle specific applications.
3) Application‑Specific Behavior
- Blocking: We do not block lawful content, applications, or services.
- Throttling: We do not throttle specific applications. Temporary traffic management during congestion is application‑neutral.
- Paid Prioritization: We do not sell paid prioritization. Business priority add‑ons relate to incident response and repair prioritization, not application‑level fast lanes.
4) Device Attachment Rules
- You may use your own compatible home router. We can also provide a managed router.
- Outdoor radios are professionally installed to meet alignment, grounding, and power requirements.
- Customer equipment must comply with applicable regulations (e.g., FCC Part 15) and not cause interference.
5) Security
We implement standard security practices (e.g., filtering clearly malicious traffic, DHCP/ARP protections on last‑mile segments, and rate‑limits to mitigate DDoS). These measures are content‑ and application‑neutral and are used to protect customers and the network.
6) Performance Characteristics
Performance varies based on wireless link conditions and network load. Typical ranges under normal conditions:
- Palmerton & Nearby (new build): 75–1000 Mbps down, 25–1000 Mbps up; typical latency 8–20 ms.
- Lehigh Valley (legacy): up to ~150 Mbps down / 25 Mbps up; typical latency 12–30 ms.
Individual results depend on installation quality, LOS, sector load, and customer equipment. We are transparent during installation about expected performance for your location.
7) Specialized Services
We do not offer specialized services that negatively affect broadband access performance. Business services (e.g., static IPs, private VLANs) are engineered to avoid undue impact on general access.
8) Privacy of Network Management
We do not collect your browsing history. We use limited telemetry (e.g., device health, signal metrics, throughput, and fault data) to operate the network, as described in our Privacy Policy.
9) Questions & Redress Options
If you have concerns about performance or this policy, please contact us at (484) 500‑WiFi or [email protected]. If we cannot resolve an issue, you may file a complaint with the FCC at consumercomplaints.fcc.gov.
10) Changes
We may update this page as our network evolves. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date above.
